Меметика

Жена Хенсона, Арел Лукас, была зачислена Дугласом Хофштадтером в Metamagical Themas за предложение назвать изучение мемов — меметикой. Хенсон написал две статьи на тему мемов в 1987 году, одна из них была опубликована в Analog. Другая, Memes, MetaMemes and Politics, распространялась в Интернете перед печатью.

Ричард Докинз, который создал понятие мемов, одобрительно цитирует во втором издании своей книги «Эгоистичный ген» придуманный Хенсоном неологизм мемоиды чтобы говорить о «жертвах, которые были захвачены мемом до такой степени, что их собственное выживание становится несущественным».
