Но для т. н. решающего момента, не только пойманного, но и эстетично зафиксированного, кроме большой чувствительности и понимания природы человека, которыми Анри Картье-Брессон обладал в высочайшей степени, требуется утонченная работа с художественной формой, с геометрией внутрикадрового пространства, умение создавать изысканные визуальные метафоры и т. д. В 1952-м году словосочетание решающий момент сделалось названием его книги.
