Ким Паффенрот (англ. Kim Paffenroth) (род. 7 марта 1966, Нью-Йорк, США) — американский религиовед, теолог и писатель. Автор многочисленных работ по библеистике и теологии. Исследователь фильмов ужасов и литературы ужасов. Лауреат премии Брэма Стокера.
Биография
Родился 7 марта 1966 года в Нью-Йорке.
Окончил старшие школы Брод Ран и Лос-Аламос.
В 1988 году окончил Колледж святого Иоанна (Аннаполис/Санта-Фе) со степенью бакалавра гуманитарных наук.
В 1990 году в Гарвардскую школу богословия со степенью магистра святой теологии по библеистике.
В 1995 году получил степень доктора философии по теологии в Университете Нотр-Дам.
Преподавал в Университете Вилланова и Университете Нотр-Дам.
С 2001 года по настоящее время — профессор кафедры религиоведения в Колледже Ионы (Нью-Йорк)
Женат, имеет двух детей.
Научная деятельность
Ким Паффенрот занимается исследованиями Нового Завета и раннехристианской Церкви. Особое внимание им уделено блаженному Августину. Он также изучает, как раннехристианские верования выразились во множестве недавних литературных произведениях или в других областях элитарной и массовой культуры Последнее время им уделено существенное внимание тому, что многие могли счесть, как нехристианский или даже антихристианский жанр — фильмы ужасов, литература ужасов и телевизионные ужасы.
